{Hi! Nice to meet you}
Tuesday, January 29, 2013
I've seen this floating around many blogs that I follow and thought it was a fabulous idea!
First of all, I want to thank each of you that take the time to read my little ol' blog. It truly means the world to me. I have met so many wonderful people through blogging!!
I'd like to ask each of you to take a minute and say hi! Tell me your name, where you're from, where you blog, etc. Tell me what you do, about your family, about yourself. Do we have anything in common? Is there anything you'd like to see more of on my blog? Any questions? I know blogging is hard some times and takes a lot of time. Sometimes we have just enough time to read a blog and not comment. So, today, tomorrow, whenever you have a moment please say hi! I'd love to connect with all of you!!
I'm a Texan born and raised. I'm 32 years old and have been with my hubby for half of my life (17 years this November). He is my best friend and someone that I love to be around. Together we have one sweet little boy, Mason. He will be three this May. He's one half of my world and actually the reason I started blogging. My first blog post was on 9/28/2009 {here} to announce to my family all at once that we were pregnant. We live in a fairly small town about 30 miles South of Dallas. I drink way too many diet Dr Peppers, worry entire too much about things beyond my control and love the Texas Rangers. I'm a girly girl, but love all things outdoors. Also, writing things about myself is the hardest!!

Friday night we went to dinner at Tuscan Slice in Waxahachie. It's a great little Italian place where kids get to create their own pizza! They roll out the dough, add the toppings and take it to the wood-fire. He had a good time!
That evening Mason actually ended up staying the night with his Nana and Papa. {side note - that was only the 4th time he's every spent the night away from us.} He did well. And Mama survived too!
Saturday we were lazy and hung out until mid-afternoon then headed to Fort Worth. We had planned on going to Sam Moon and then Cabelas, but Nate's mom called and asked if we could meet them at Nate's Grandmas for a visit. So, we went to Sam Moon since we were already there. Then we headed to GP for a visit. For dinner we went to Spring Creek for dinner. Mason was completely rotten. I didn't get any pictures on Saturday.
Sunday we headed to Allen/McKinney to go to Cabelas. Mason was an angel and we had such a good time. We also took Mason for a haircut. He's always so well behaved and enjoys getting a haircut.

I didn't get to post this yesterday, but still wanted to get it on the blog. I just love our Sundays. This week I don't have many from home. We woke up, hung out a tiny bit, then headed out for the week.

{Written on 01/08/13}
My Dear, Sweet Mason,
Last night I laid in bed with you as I do almost every night. Here lately you love to be rubbed on our back or your cheek, rather than having your back patted. So, I was rubbing your sweet little cheek and something hit me like a ton of bricks. As I was tracing your cheek I thought about how I never want to forget a single centimeter of your sweet face as it is right now. I never want to forget anything you tell me or the stories you come up with. Or how blessed I was to be lying there with you. You are growing too incredibly fast and I know it's just a matter of time before you're twelve and kicking me out of your bed. {I'd like to think that won't happen, but ya know}. So tonight and every day forward I am going to soak it all in a little deeper, hold you a little tighter and pray a little harder.
Your Daddy and I dreamed about you for ten plus years. And here you are. And better, cuter, sweeter, smarter than anything we could have ever dreamed. And I love you more than I could have ever imagined. What you do to my heart sweet love, it's indescribable. You are amazing, Mason Lane. You have such a sweet soul and a compassionate little heart. I am so in love with you.

Last night I asked you what makes your heart happy. You said, "My cop car, my puppy and blankie, Mommy and Daddy." And then in the sweetest little voice you say, "What makes your heart happy Mommy?" My eyes welled with tears. You've never asked me before. I think it's mostly because I usually start with "Mason do you now that you make my heart so happy." So, back to your question, I say to you, "You and Daddy." And then you tell me, "Well, my heart is sad." I asked you why and you said because you needed your Daddy. I call him in there and you tell him, "Daddy I forgot to give you more kisses" and you kissed him and said your goodnights again. And Bam! Happy heart again.
I hope that Mommy and Daddy always make your heart happy. And I hope more than anything you know how deeply we love you.
All your Mama's love.

Take a walk down a back road,
Tackle box and a cane pole;
Carve our names in that white oak,
An' steal a kiss as the sun fades,
That's what I love about Sunday,
Oh, yeah.

This past Sunday was one of my favorite days. The weather was nice so we took full advantage! We played outside almost sunup to sundown! I love those kind of days.
I love when my boy can get out and just be a BOY! And that he did. He rode the tractor, played in his hideout, went down to the creek, threw rocks in the creek, collected sticks and climbed rocks. It was a blast!
