We spent the weekend at Jellystone and had a great time! We always enjoy camping...and we always enjoy Jellystone. We left Thursday evening to head down there. After setting up the camper, a bike ride through the park, and cooking supper it was time to call it a night. We were able to sleep in on Friday because Pirate's Cove {waterpark} didn't open until 11am. Nathan and Mason slept until 10:30. haha!
We got to the waterpark shortly after they opened and were in the water pretty quick! Pirate's Cove was a blast! They added on since the last time we visited and it was awesome!! They added some bigger waterslides, some pool areas, and a lazy river. We went down one of the new & bigger slides and it freaked me out! I went down first, then Mason, then Nate. I was worried Mason would hate it because I sure did. But nope, he loved it and was ready for more. He begged us to go down the biggest slide...but Nate and I weren't ready to let him do that just yet. He seemed so small compared to that big slide. And I didn't like that you have to go down on your belly. Maybe next year! We stayed at the waterpark until almost 4pm and decided to leave to head to town to eat at Babes. It's one of our favorites and we like the Burleson location.
After supper we went back to the campsites to hang out and my family had finally arrived at the park so they came over to visit. Then we were ready to hit the hay! Being at a waterpark all day wears you out. Saturday we slept in again and then headed to camping world. Nate's parents needed a few things for the camper and we always enjoy looking around. When we got back to the camper my mom came by with a golf cart and asked if Mason wanted to go on a ride. Of course he did want to! He ended up spending most of the day with my parents and my nephew while Nate and I hung out with his parents at the camper. Mason drove the golf cart through the trails, went to the park, the bouncehouse park, rode the train ride and the antique firetrucks and played his little heart out. We finally got him back just before bedtime. But not before taking a bath! He was filthy from head to toe. Just as a little boy in the summer should be. ;)
Sunday was going home day, but Nate and Mason hit the pool before we loaded up. For most of the hour we were the only ones down at the pool. I guess everyone else left early! Bummer for them, but good for us.
Have you ever been to one of the Jellystone locations?
We have a Jellystone in the city that we live in, but have never been. Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteYou had a really fantastic weekend. Your pics are great! My children would love such a location!
ReplyDeleteSleeping in (I'm so jealous)! Water parks! Golf cart rides! Camping! Swimming! You guys had THE best weekend, ever!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I've ever hear of Jellystone Parks. And, by the sounds of it, we are totally missing out.
I've never been to a Jellystone Park, but one of my good friends goes to a different one (or two or three!) every summer. SUCH great parks for kids . . . these are the moments they will remember for a lifetime!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun place!! You're going to have to keep a tab with a running list of great campsites! I want to know all the fun places for when we start going! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat place looks so fun! I want to go to a water park! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never been there but it looks like a wonderful time. I could use a water park in my life right now!
ReplyDeleteI have heard wonderful things about this park. We have one close to where I grew up near my parent's house! Wish they had this when I was little, but I look forward to visiting it! Thanks for sharing your experience. Looks fun!
ReplyDeleteSo many of my TX friends have visited Jellystone. It was something we had talked about doing had we stayed in Texas longer. It looks like y'all had a blast.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great summer blast. And definitely dirty and tired at the end of the day sounds like how all summer long should be =) Plus sleeping in the next day. Not too shabby. And the big water slides! Sounds so big time to me.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I have never heard of Jelly Stone. Looks like a super fun time. I wonder if there is a location close to me. EEEK. I love little trips like this!!
ReplyDeleteWe went to Jellystone Park in Wichita Falls at the end of July. We had a great time, but honestly, the Burleson park looks like it has a lot more activities! I'll keep that in mind for next summer because we definitely will be visiting a Jellystone again!
ReplyDeleteThat place looks amazing. Seriously awesome. Here in another year or two Russ and I are going to have to take our girls to a water park. I bet they would have an awesome time. It is SO hard watching them go down those big slides isn't it? Something about water slides just makes me so nervous.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun place!
