I decided to start with a fall door sign because I am fall obsessed! It's my favorite time of the year. Plus, my DIY burlap wreath was starting to look pretty sad. All of the turquoise had faded into a weird green color. I wanted something a little different than what I have been hanging on my door for the last few years, so I chose this pin:
I went to the store with full intentions on buying a wooden sign just like the above, but then I saw the tin. And I wanted to make it a little different and put my own touch on it! So, I bought tin instead of wood. Here is how I created my project:
Materials:
Tin {2pk} - $8.84 @ Walmart
Spray paint - $4.32 @ Walmart
Letter H - $1.47 @ Walmart
Fall colored flowers & leaves - $5.41 @ Dollar Tree
Hot glue gun - had at home
Wire cutters - had at home
Not too shabby! I only bought the 2 pack of tin because they were out of the 1 packs. And the spray paint will be used for a couple of more projects so it will serve more than one purpose. The whole project took me a total of maybe 10 minutes. I spray painted the letter H with the turquoise paint and let it dry while I did other chores around the house. Then I just clipped the flowers I wanted to use with the wire cutters and hot glued the flowers and the letter H to the tin. That's it! Cheap, easy and so cute!!
Now I can't wait to finish decorating my porch. I just have to talk the hubbs into getting my stuff from the attic. Because I can't do attics.
Have you made anything from Pinterest lately?
