Can I just say that watching your child develop a passion for something is one of the greatest joys in life? A fire ignited in Mason back on December 1, 2022, and there's no slowing it down! He is a million percent invested in Hockey. If he's not on the ice, he's out in the driveway on rollerblades practicing, if he's not outside practicing, he's watching videos about Hockey and learning skills, and if he's not doing that, he's watching old games, studying teams and players, researching stats and scores, etc. He lives, eats, and breathes hockey! It's amazing to watch!
Nate gets out there with him almost every day to play with him and to help coach him the best that he can. Mason and Nate have really bonded over sports lately and it's so heartwarming! I love to see these two together out on the ice, in the driveway, or even on the couch watching a game!
Nate and I have really seen the hard work that Mason has been putting in for the sport he loves so we wanted to do something special for him. We took him to a huge hockey store to pick out a new and better hockey stick. We got super lucky and had a kid help us who really knew the sport. He had played for years and was knowledgeable about hockey sticks. This is a good thing because Nate and I had no clue what qualified as a good stick or one that was a good fit for him. After trying out a few that were a good fit for him, he found one that he absolutely loved! He was so excited!!
I can't wait to see how far this boy goes with Hockey! He amazes us at how far he has come in such a short time. It's hard to believe that less than two months ago he was stepping onto the ice for the second time ever and using buckets to hold himself up!
