Why do weekends always fly by so fast? We had a pretty busy weekend, which always makes it seem even shorter. Despite it being busy, it was a fun weekend. Here's a look at what we did...
Friday - Nate and I took a little nap after work (glorious) and then we headed to Mansfield. We went to eat at Mexican Inn (I didn't take any pictures but it was all so delicious.) We all enjoyed what we ordered and had a great time together. We'll be going back soon! After supper, we headed to the rink to get Mason's ice skate blades sharpened. Then we went to Academy to look around.
Saturday - after 2.5 weeks off, the rink was finally back open! They closed for repairs which included ripping the ice out, fixing the ground underneath, and putting ice back in! Mason was going stir-crazy without time on the ice for that long! He was excited to be back. And, he had one of the best practices & scrimmages yet.
After hockey, it was time for me to head to the Jeep Girl Mafia 2 year anniversary. The event didn't start until 5:00 but leadership got there around 1:30 to start setting up. It was a hot and long day, but such a good one! We had an amazing turnout for the event. We had vendors, off-road shops, a DJ, a kid-zone, a show and shine area, and so many awesome giveaways. There were hundreds upon hundreds of Jeeps! I'm so grateful to be a VP for this amazing club! I didn't get many pictures or videos because I was too busy working the event!
Sunday - we slept in a bit after a very exhausting Saturday! Then Nate and I ran some errands in town. We had lunch at Farmluck Soda Fountain. This is one of my favorite places for lunch! It's the cutest soda fountain and the food is amazing! After lunch, we went to Atwoods to get some things for my chickens.
Then we picked up Mason and headed to the Plano/Frisco area. All of the hockey shops are about an hour and ten minutes from us, so we have to make a bit of a day trip out of it! We started at Play It Again Sports, which is a store that sells both used and new sports equipment. Mason saw a ton of sticks that had "Jones #3" on it. He said, "I wonder if that is Seth Jones sticks". So he asked the cashier and sure enough, it was! Seth and Caleb Jones (brothers) are both NHL hockey players that came from the Plano area. Any time they are back in town they bring their gear to Play It Again Sports! The guys there said they are so down to earth and you'd never know they were pro players if you walked in while they were there. Mason was so excited to hear this and scooped up one of the sticks as fast as he could! He now has an NHL game-played stick from one of his favorite players hanging on his wall! It was his lucky day, no doubt!! After Play It Again Sports, we headed over to Hockey Monkey to find Mason some new hockey pants.
