After spending the afternoon surrounded by laughter, sweets, and the sweet women in my family at our annual Christmas baking party, I slipped out a bit early—but for a very special reason. I didn’t want to miss Mason’s hockey game.
There’s something incredibly meaningful about showing up for your kids—not just being present, but truly watching them grow into who they’re becoming. I love watching Mason play, and I’m just not ready to miss a single second of it. Every time he steps onto the ice, I see growth. I see confidence, hard work, and pure joy. He's not just playing a game—he’s chasing a passion, and getting to witness that firsthand is a gift I don’t take for granted.
Sitting in the stands, bundled up and cheering him on, I felt so much gratitude. Grateful for this boy who brings so much light into our lives. Grateful for the family God has given me. And so deeply grateful for the opportunity to be a front-row witness to it all. I will spend an eternity thanking Jesus for moments like these.
The game itself went great—Mason played hard, and more importantly, he had a blast. He even got another penalty—which, let’s be honest, feels like a bit of a hockey player’s rite of passage, right?
And of course, leave it to these silly boys to keep things fun—they drew on mustaches before the game, just for laughs. Their friendships are one of my favorite things.
It was a full day, from festive baking to cheering in the cold rink, but my heart couldn’t be fuller. These are the moments that make up a life—ordinary, beautiful, unforgettable.
