{It's the Little Things - Week 1 - A heart shaped Leaf}

So excited to be linking up with the sweet Ashley from Words about Waverly and Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique for It's the Little Things. I just think this is the best idea for a linkup. Us Mommies always want to remember those little things, right? I know I do.

The other day Mason and Nathan were playing outside while I was inside cleaning and such. Mason came in with a leaf that was shaped like a heart.

He said that he picked out for me and his Daddy because he loves us so much!!

And a video...

What has your little{s} done lately that you want to always remember?

{Weekend Wrap Up/My Birthday}

Happy Monday, friends!!

We had a great weekend. It almost continues through today. Almost. My boys are off, but I have to work. But hey, if I have to work at least it's at home!!! {So so thankful for this opportunity}

Friday my boys took me to Ulta and let me go in by myself for however long I wanted!! I am pretty sure I heard angels singing!!! It was greatness. I went to get my full free size Calvin Klein mascara....butletsbehonest....I knew I'd find a few other things I just needed! ha! And I did. I got quite the haul. Oh, I almost forgot...this was after I got to go to Target all by myself earlier that day! I got makeup there too. I found some great contouring tutorials on Pinterest and needed the makeup to try it out.

That evening we ate dinner at Taco Bell. It's what Mason wanted, so we obliged. And I have to tell a funny story. An embarrassing one, actually.

...we were sitting in a booth and I went to get out to get something and busted my butt! I fell flat on my butt. In my defense, I thought the booth was longer and I was sliding out to get from behind the table...but yeah, it wasn't.

Mason held in his laugh as long as he could and Mason said, "Mama, you shouldn't do that" and "You should tell them you spilled your food all over the floor, but it was an accident". And then Nate made fun of me for being "old" since it was just a day before my birthday!

That evening we visited my parents for a bit and then came home to relax and hang out.

Saturday morning we saw a picture on Instagram that someone posted of a Chick Fil A breakfast and we hopped straight out of bed to head to ours! It looked delicious and we were hungry! Mason and I went in our pajamas! We came back home and ate and then hung out for the rest of the afternoon. I organized all of my makeup {new and old} and my boys played outside.

Early that evening my inlaws took us to Babes for supper. It was delicious and of course the company was awesome. At one point the Hokey Pokey came on and Mason hopped out of his chair. Our waitress could tell that he wanted to dance so she invited him to dance with her. He was so excited! And he got up there and did the Hokey Pokey in front of the whole restaurant. It was awesome!! And this Mama was so proud of him. Me makes my heart soar!

That evening we visited my parents again and then back home. It was a good birthday.

Sunday. Oh Sunday. This was my favorite day. We went to lunch at El Fenix and then to Tractor Supply. Then we headed home to play outside. And that we did! We took the Trail Wagon over to the pasture and we were outside for most of the day. The weather was absolutely perfect! Just me and my boys out in the big wide open. LOVE!

We found a neat little area....circled in trees with green grass {almost everywhere is brown and dead}. It's the coolest! The boys want to put some kind of {adult sized} clubhouse out there. I wouldn't mind it either.

How was your weekend? What did you do?

{Five on Friday}

I love this link-up! Lets be random for a bit...

O N E

I am so behind on blogging! It was Christmas, and then I was covering for a co-worker the week after which meant double the work and then I started this week off with a root canal! Busy, I tell you! I can't wait to get caught up and start blogging regularly again. I'm also feeling the urge for a new blog design. New Year, New Blog Design?

T W O

I mentioned above a root canal...yeah...so that happened! The actual procedure itself wasn't bad {things to those wonderful shots} but I've been in pain since! My whole left side of my mouth is sore. My gums, my cheek, my teeth. Ouch! And I have a really high tolerance for pain. It's better than a toothache, for sure...but the soreness is painful too! They started the root canal at 3:00 and I was done by 5:00. It was pretty entertaining that evening because I couldn't feel my face or my lip. I had to drink out of a straw and even that was pretty hard. Nate got a good laugh out of it. He tried to video me, but I wouldn't let him. I woke up after midnight and my face/lip was still numb! ha

On the way to the dentist

So, Nate, his brother and I saw George yesterday! {no pictures because I am writing/scheduling this post on Wednesday} I am sure that we had a fabulous time and I can't wait to post about it here.

I haven't introduce my new nephew here yet. Blog friends, meet my precious nephew Hunter Cole. He was born 12/27 weighing 9lbs 13oz and 22 1/2 inches long! He is such a sweet and good baby. We just adore him!!!! And yes, he is definitely not helping with my serious case of baby fever!!!

Nate went back to work this Monday and Mason went back to school. And? I don't like it! I loved being able to walk into the living room and kiss them any time I wanted! I miss them like crazy and it's weird being home without them. But, on the other hand it's kind of nice to have a routine again. Mason did really well on Monday. He almost acted like he was ready to go back. Tuesday we had a little trouble...but thankfully that only lasted about 10 minutes. And today {wednesday} he did great again! I just love this boy so much. He's growing and talking more like an adult everyday. He uses words like 'actually' and 'practically' and such now. We like to take silly pictures in the morning in the cafeteria at his school...

{Christmas 2013}

It's hard to believe Christmas is already over!!! It comes and goes all too quick. I started taking my Christmas stuff down on Monday and I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me sad! We had such a great Christmas & December, I don't want to let it go!! We crafted, read many books, shared the story of Jesus with Mason and had incredible family time. Also, Christmas was a lot less stressful this year because we didn't have to divide a day between 4+ different places. It worked out really well.

 We had a lot of family time on Christmas Eve; just us three. Nathan and Mason ran errands that morning so that I could wrap some of Mason's gifts. Then I remembered I didn't buy cookie materials or carrots for Santa and his reindeer. So, I jetted off to Target. I was expecting the absolute worst at Target, but it wasn't bad at all. I was able to get everything I needed.

When I got home Mason and I made the cookies for Santa. We had fun and made a mess, too!

Then Nate got a wild hair to make Apple Pie Moonshine. We're not big drinkers, but Nate saw this recipe on FB and has been wanting to make it ever since. So, we did. It's really pretty and will probably just sit in the jar...but it was fun to make!

Around 5ish we drove around the block to Nate's parents house for our annual snack and hang out night! We wore our pajamas and snacked on a Chick-Fil-A Nugget and fruit tray, cheese ball and cracks, veggies, chips and dips, sugar cookies, etc. Mason's Nana and Papa let him open one gift and he was so excited. They got him the Little People Nativity Set. Mason has loved the Nativity and story of Jesus throughout this Christmas. It was perfect.

Boys will be boys! Even on Christmas Eve!!

We headed home before 9 so that we could let Mason watch his last Santa video and get to bed. He fell asleep really quick!! I was surprised with how excited he was.

 I had to wake Mason up at 9:30 am so that he could see what Santa brought!! I couldn't wait any longer. Plus, Nate's family was waiting for us too!

Me - Mason wake up and come see what Santa brought you

{he pops up}

Mason - Santa come'd? Right now? Today?

Me - Yes baby!

Mason - Yay, I wanna go see...

The traditional bow on the boys photos....Mason was saying random things for the boys to say instead of cheese and it was in some foreign language. The boys couldn't stop laughing!

 That evening we headed to my parents house to have Christmas over there. My brother's boys were sick so they didn't come. It was only Mason and Tanner. He hung out, ate yummy fajitas and opened gifts.

Videos I made with Flipagram...

And the one and only picture we got as a family because Mason couldn't be bothered long enough.......

Oy Vey!

There's always next year, right?

How was your Christmas?
