{Nathan & Mason's new hobby // Airsoft guns}

 During the snowpocalypse, Nate and Mason watched videos on airsoft guns/tournaments. They also played a little with what they had here at the house. It wasn't long before we were buying new (better) airsoft guns at Academy and visiting a couple different airsoft supply stores.

I love that it's a hobby they can do together and right here on our property. Although, Mason would like to complete in tournaments one day. We have a big Airsoft park (I guess that's what you call it) not too far from our house. They offer free play as well as host tournaments. They are really looking forward to playing out there one day soon.

{Don Juans Grand Opening // June 2020}

One of our favorite restaurants from our hometown recently opened a second location about an hour from us near Cedar Creek Lake. Nathan and I have so many memories of this place (at the Grand Prairie location) and have gone there for as long as we can remember. The grand opening for the new location just so happened to be on a Friday (Nate is off on Fridays) and so he and Mason were able to go!

{Five on Friday // Five other things that happened in April}

Happy finally Friday!! It's been a long, crazy week. Mason was off school on Monday and Nathan stayed home because he was not feeling well. And because of this, our days were so thrown off all week! Wednesday was bring your kid to work day at Nate's company, my brother had to have surgery yesterday and then Nate and Mason are on a field trip today. I've been working and cleaning the house in between while the boys are gone and just remembered I never finished this post. So, here's a little Five on Friday...Five other things that happened in April. (still playing catch-up)

{Tuesday Talk // Keep your eye on the ball}

Sunday evening these two enjoyed some time outside playing a little soft toss, batting and catching. I loved watching and snapping a few photos of them playing together. The weather was perfect and the sun was setting creating the perfect glow. That little bit of time had me longing for summer even more.

{Five on Friday // PinkBlush, Kayaking, Office supplies}

Happy Friday! I have to say that this week went by pretty quick. It was a good and low-key week for us for once. We didn't go to any karate classes and stayed home most evenings. And...wait for it...I even cooked!! It seems like we have been just grabbing fast food or something easy for a while because our evenings are filled with karate. Mason needed a break this week and I kind of welcomed it. I've enjoyed being in the kitchen and having a meal ready by the time Nate gets home from work. And I've enjoyed the sweet time with Mason just hanging out without having to worry about getting ready and out the door. One evening Nathan and Mason went kayak fishing. I went to take some pictures, but then I had a whole 2 hours to myself. And while I could have easily just plopped down on the couch to catch up on BIP, I didn't. I was productive instead. And it felt so good and refreshing.

{A REEL good time // Summer bucketlist update}

One of the items on our summer bucketlist was to take Mason fishing! We've gone a few times, but it was nothing more than Mason dropping a little kiddie fishing pole line into the water a few times and then calling it quits. We wanted to take him again now that he's older and his attention span is {a little bit} longer.

So we gathered up our stuff; fishing gear, hat and poles for Nate, camera, picnic basket & blanket and an ice cold drink in my Yeti for me, and a drink & hat for Mason. We stopped by Academy and grabbed some worms for bait. That might have been the coolest part to Mason. He was all about playing with those slimy worms and even wanted to keep 2 as a pet. Um, no dude! We went to a local church that keeps a stocked pond and allows the public to use it. It was the perfect place to fish with a six year old.

We had the best time! Mason learned how to cast on his own, how to bait a hook, and the patience of fishing. I enjoyed sitting back and watching them and taking pictures!

We've also checked off  'have a water-balloon fight', go on a hike, and annual Memorial Day trip to the hill country which you can find in this post. Technically, we've already crossed off 'go camping', but we still have a few more camping adventures planned this summer. So I will wait until those have been done before I cross it off of our list.

Have you taken your little(s) fishing? Do you have a summer bucketlist?

{Weekending // Bass Pro // Father's Day // Church Sports Camp}

Happy Monday! We had a good weekend, but it went oh so fast. I feel like I always say that the weekends fly by, but this one truly did. It was a good one, though!

Friday night we had supper with my family and then visited at their house for a while. We stayed a little later than we probably should have and Mason ended up having night terrors all night {for over 7 hours} long. It seems to happen every single time we leave my parents house. I am not sure what it is. I am thinking it's the over-stimulation from playing with his 4 boy cousins. They're loud and it's complete chaos when they're all together. That's the only thing different that I can pinpoint. I tried to tend to Mason's night terrors as much as I could because Nate had to be up super early Saturday morning for a church men's fishing trip. But, neither he or I got much sleep that night. Mason finally calmed down and rested from 6:30 am until 11:30 am. I let him sleep in because I knew he would be exhausted. I am truly grateful that he doesn't remember the night terrors the next day, because they are so tough!!

Nate left the house around 5 am on Saturday to meet the men at church. They fished from about 7 am until noon-ish. Nathan had a blast and thinks he caught a bunch of fish. He sent me this picture from the middle of the lake.

This man could spend all day fishing! He loves it. I'm not patient enough for it. I'd rather take pictures. ha.

{Oh Hey Friday // Bike riding, baseball, haircuts and Inkdot}

Good morning and Happy Friday! I am so excited about the weekend. Last weekend was just a really good one and it left me longing and dreaming of the next. Aren't summer weekends just the best? We don't have much planned for the weekend, but I am still excited about it. Tonight we are thinking about taking Mason to the theater to see the new Ninja Turtles movie. I am kind of geeking out about it. I grew up with the Ninja Turtles because my brother was obsessed with them. And Saturday morning I have a brunch with the ladies from my church. Sunday is church! But, I am sure we are bound to pack some adventures in between those things we do have planned.

Time for Oh Hey Friday...

{T W O} // Bike Rides with Dad...

Mason has put quite a few miles on his bike this week with his dad! Nathan can't even get in the door from work and Mason is begging him to go for a ride. I would love to join them {and need to}, but I like for them to have that time together just them two. Some little one on one boy time. Mason and I are together 24/7 and we get plenty of quality time together. So, this gives them some time to chat and catch-up. I love it. During my down-time I have done my bible study out on the porch, picked up around the house or taken a hot bath.

{T H R E E} // So, this happened...

His freckles and facial expressions slay me.

Mason's was due for a haircut, but we couldn't talk him into going. Nate mentioned just buzzing it. It's summer and his hair grows super fast so why the heck not? Mason was on-board too, so we did it. I love the way it came out! But, he looks so much older. I'm not sure I'm a fan of that.

{F O U R} // We've also done a bit of this...

Mason is becoming quite the little slugger. Baseball wasn't his favorite when he played, but he has been enjoying it a lot lately. He loves to hit, catch and throw with his dad. I hope he develops a passion for it like the rest of his family. :) But if not, that's okay too!

{F I V E} // These prints...

When Inkdot reached out to me with free prints I couldn't say yes fast enough. I have been taking a ton of pictures lately, but haven't printed out a single one. And square prints are kind of my jam. Their site was so easy to use and navigate.

And there were so many options to grab your photos from. I uploaded many of them from IG which was perfect because they were already square for the most part.

Once you select the picture you want to use it lets you crop it to your liking. Easy peasy! I got my prints in the mail and couldn't be more excited. They turned out so great. The colors are vibrant and they are pretty clear to have been printed on a very matte paper. The prints are a 5.5 size square. Now I am trying to think of a craft I can do with them or a fun way to display them.

Any ideas?

Any plans for the weekend? I hope its a great one!
