{Mason's Pre-K Graduation}
Saturday, May 23, 2015
Well, we {and by we I mean I} survived Pre-K graduation! It was the cutest, most sweetest ceremony EVER! The owner puts so much into making it a really special night. Her heart and love for the kids are evident in everything she does. She barely made it through her speech talking about how special the kids are to her and how much she loves them! She said that someone once asked her how she's closer to her Pre-K & Daycare kids than her own family and she said, "Which family member do you spend over 250 days out of the year with?" Oh, I just love her! Sure, I am sad that my baby is no longer a Pre-K kid and is all big and starting Kindergarten this year, but I am also sad to leave behind the most amazing school we have ever been a part of!

{Last day of Pre-K}
Friday, May 22, 2015
Mason started his first day of Pre-K on August 18th {post here} and today, May 22nd will be his very last. It's so, so bittersweet. I just don't know any other word to describe it. The end of an era and the beginning of a new. I am so sad to leave behind this amazing school, the awesome teachers and all of Mason's friends he has made there. He will not be going to Kindergarten with any of his friends in his class. Most of them live on the other side of the highway and everyone is in different school districts. We have vowed to summer play-dates with his best buddies and I plan to keep my part of that vow. I know how much his friends mean to him. And we will have to go back and visit everyone at this school because they are just awesome and mean so much to us. I will never have the words to accurately describe how thankful I am for his school and his teachers and the impact they have made on Mason's life. They have prepared him for all of his school days to come. Nathan and I both feel like Mason will be ahead of the game when he starts Kindergarten and I can't tell you how good that feels! He's writing, spelling and even doing basic math! Blows my mind. I would bet my right arm that I wasn't doing math at only 4 years old!!

I found this in Mason's folder yesterday and it only took the first couple of lines before I was a crying mess! Nathan picked up Mason early on Friday and his teacher didn't have time to get all of my Mother's Day gifts together. So, I got it yesterday. And I love it! I will never ever get tired of these little things they make in school. I love the thought they put into them. So sweet.
My favorite line? "My Mom is smart! She even knows about Jesus." I love that he loves to learn about Jesus!! Makes my heart so incredibly happy!!!

Linking Up with Emily at Ember Grey for a Grateful Heart.
These.wreck.me.completely. I knew the pictures were coming...I did...but I didn't know how un-prepared I was to see them! I walked into school to pick Mason up one day last week and saw Mamas looking at their child's Pre-K graduation pictures and I just about lost it. I asked Ms Ashley to put Mason's graduation pictures behind the Spring picture packet because I just couldn't. I couldn't. I mean I was already in tears over other Mamas looking at their babies pictures could you imagine the blubbering mess I would be if I looked at Mason's? We'll save that ugly mess for home. :)
I got in the car and put those pictures out of sight. I prepared myself the whole way home. Silly, maybe? But I had to. I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that my sweet little baby is old enough to graduate Pre-K and will be moving on to Kindergarten in less than five months. I mean, I just had him yesterday.
I opened the pictures at home and just as I expected...the big fat ugly cry. Even with his fake smile and sweet little face I cried. And I cried hard. It's just so bittersweet.
But, with graduation approaching it really had me thinking. Mostly about how grateful I am that we found such an amazing school for Mason. The teachers and staff at his school are so thoughtful, so caring and they love these babies as if they were their own. That's not easy to find these days. We have been on the other side at a different school where it was just a 'job' to most of the teachers there. All I can say is that we are so incredibly blessed to be where we are now. Those teachers pour their hearts and souls into these kids over 8 hours a day shaping them into respectful, smart and caring little humans all the while preparing them for the great big world out there. I am astonished by the things that Mason has learned. He is writing on his own, spelling multiple words and sounding out words. I am almost certain I didn't do that at four years old. I am amazed. And not only is he learning so much there, he comes home talking about how fun it was and how much he loves his teacher and peers. That makes a Mama's heart so happy.
I had so much guilt taking Mason to school every day when he was at the other location. It rocked me to my core. But now? I don't have that guilt at all. Sure, I miss him like crazy and think about going to pick him up every minute of every day because he's a blessing and makes my days happy, but I do not feel guilty. He is loved, taken care of, having fun, making lifelong friends and learning so much. And it's going to make going to Kindergarten so much easier on him. Why wouldn't I want that for him?
So, today and for the rest of my life I will be grateful for FHK and the teachers and staff that make it the amazing place that it is.
What are you grateful for today?

My new all-time favorite picture of Mason! |
Linking up with Ember Grey for a Grateful Heart
So...I know in my Goals//What I'm looking forward to post I put Pre-K Graduation and Kindergarten...but honestly, that's a big fat lie. I should have wrote that those are two things Mason is looking forward to. But his Mama? Not so much! I'm not ready for it. It's clouding my brain and making me so very weepy.
One day I was picking Mason up from school and without any warning his teacher said, "Pre-K graduation is Friday, May 22"...do you know how bad I had to fight back the tears?? It was hard. So hard. But once I got in the car it was a free for all and the waterworks started. And then I had to tell Nate in our daily afternoon call after school. More tears.
How can my sweet little baby be graduating Pre-K and gearing up for Kindergarten already? Wasn't it just yesterday we were at the hospital having him? Right?
I know that he's in school now, but Kindergarten just seems so much bigger, so much different. It's stepping out of my comfort zone and into a big new world. New school, new teachers, new kids, new routine, new, new, new. Mason is at the best school on the planet right now and I just don't know how anything else can compare.
Which leads me to the thing that is probably bothering me the most. The school district we are zoned to. But, that's a whole other post.
Ever day this week Mason has brought home something in his folder that reminds me just how close we are to Pre-K Graduation; teacher/parent conference for the first semester assessment and to talk about graduation and Kindergarten, graduation field trip {to the Ranger game! Yeah} permission slip, if he will need transportation to/from school from FHK, etc! And each time I have to sign one of those forms I cry just a little harder.
Please tell me I'm not the only weepy Mama?
But, Mason is excited about graduation. He thinks it's so cool that he gets to wear a cap and gown and that he gets to keep it. He's ecstatic about going to big school and to Kindergarten.
So, starting today I am going to choose to be grateful. Grateful that he's excited. Grateful for the time we've had at FHK and for his amazing teacher that has helped gear him up for Kindergarten. Grateful for how far he has come and for all that he has learned {and yet to learn}. Grateful that I will get to spend everyday of the entire Summer with him between the time he graduates Pre-K and starts Kinder. Grateful that I get to be this amazing little boy's Mama.
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

{Pre-K // Week 1 & 2 Wrapup}
Thursday, August 28, 2014
We are almost finished with our 2nd week of Pre-K. Wahoo! First of all, I can't say enough good things about Fire House Kids. The way those teachers love those kids will melt your Mama heart in an instant. From the minute you walk in the doors you feel a sense of peace, happiness and love. And it just confirms over and over again that we are in the right place! God called us here for a reason!
Week one went great! Mason went Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday without any tears at drop off. Thursday and Friday included tears. I wrote more about that yesterday. You can see that post here. Mason freaks out about nap time because he just does not like naps! He loves school, but dreads naps every day. Monday after school he wanted to draw his teacher a picture. He drew pictures of what he loved about her class and then he drew a little boy laying down {complete with a dream bubble} with a slash through it. He asked me to write, "Can we please not do nap time" next to the drawing! haha. Ms Mistty got a pretty good laugh out of it. His sweet teacher started leaving her watch with him {she lunches during part of their nap time} and told him that when the clock turned 2:00pm she would be back. He asked her if it would beep at him when it turned two. ha! Anyhow, it made him feel better and gave him a 'mission' during nap time. One day he even asked Ms. Mistty if she could just grab a small lunch and get back to him really quick. She thought it was sweet and hilarious! She called me to tell me all about it and we both cracked up! Thursday was Pajama Day! Mason and I both look forward to pajama days. He can just sleep in what he is wearing the next day and all I have to do is put shoes on him the next morning! Win // Win!!! Friday was show & tell. Mason took his baseball trophy & medal and wore his jersey. There's a picture of him below showing & telling.
Week two has gone great, but many tears have been shed in the mornings. Ms. Mistty is so great to try to find something for Mason to do to make him happy. Mason has a couple of laser lights with different things on them; an astronaut, a dinosaur and a pirate skull and crossbones and his teacher will turn off all the lights and let Mason show them to the class. Mason also met a new 'friend' this week{teacher that is with them at nap time}. She lets Mason sit with her and chat instead of sleeping. He was pretty excited about that. They started curriculum this week, so it has been fun to see Mason's work come home with him in the evenings. They also had a little birthday party for a classmate and she brought them cupcakes with little toy dinosaurs on top. Mason loved it. He's on a dinosaur kick this week.
They also started a 'class pet' this week. It's a stuffed puppy that a different kid will take home with them each week. His teacher encourages them to take pictures and notes about their adventures with their family. And they will also start a "student of the week" starting in September. So much to look forward too.
I'm really excited about this school year. We are so blessed to have Ms Mistty as a teacher and to be in a wonderful Christian facility.

Linking up with Ashley and Jess for It's the Little Things.
Nathan and I were talking yesterday about Mason and school and how we love the fact that FHK hand picks each child for a teacher based on their needs and personality. In the threes class we were blessed with such a sweet teacher that Mason adored. And now here we are in Pre-K and they couldn't have put Mason with a sweeter, better teacher. She has been nothing but kind and understanding. Mason and I are attached at the hip and we have a touch of separation anxiety. Mornings have been a little hard for the last 5 or so days. Mason cries when I leave and it rips my heart apart. He cries not because he doesn't like school but because he doesn't want me to leave. It's so hard on my Mama heart! But, his teacher is so incredibly sweet...she will send me a quick text or a picture of Mason just a bit later to reassure me that Mason is happy and having a good day. It totally turns my day around. And this is just one of the sweet little things she does for us. I will have a whole Pre-K post soon!
What little things are making your heart happy this week?
{Mason goes to Pre-K // first day}
Monday, August 18, 2014
First of all, thank you to all of those that kept us in thought and prayer about starting Pre-K. They were definitely felt! The morning could not have went better!!
I couldn't sleep last night! I felt like I was going to school the next day, even had the stomach ache for old times sake, I suppose. I drifted off sometime after 1 while holding my sweet little baby. My sweet little baby who is not so much of a baby anymore. My sweet little baby that was going to Pre-K the next day....
Nathan and I woke up a little before Mason to get ready, get Gunner fed and taken outside and to get everything ready for his big day! We let Gunner wake up Mason because we knew that was sure to wake him in a good mood! And it did. He was cracking up because Gunner kept sitting on his head. Nate and I walked back into the living room to finish getting everything ready and Mason came trotting in there full of smiles. Nate scooped him up and I told Mason I was putting his glasses case in his backpack for when he needed to take them off at naptime. And Nate reminded him not to let his friends play with them. Mason went into this big spill how he will not let his friends play with his glasses because they might scratch them or break them. It was cute...and definitely comforting that he was talking about going to school. A good start!
I got him dressed while Nate took Gunner out again. He was excited! He even made me change his shoes because he wanted to wear his "new back to school shoes". I let him even though the OCD in me wanted him to wear the chucks that matched. It's his day and if he wants to wear shoes that don't match, then so be it! We got his back to school shoes on and then he said those two dreaded words, I'm scared. I told him there was nothing to be scared about and that he was going to have so much fun. And he was good to go!
He picked out 2 little skateboards to take with him. One for him and one for a friend.
I asked Mason if we could take a couple of pictures for his first day and he says, "No, I just really want to get to school" but I somehow convinced him to take a few!
I asked him if he wanted to hear any music on the way there and of course he chose Gangnam Style....twice. And he sang his little heart out all the way to the donut store. We got donuts and a milk and were on our way. We talked about happy stuff all the way there and he told us how much he loved his backpack and lunchbox.
We got to school and started walking up to his classroom. Just as we reached the top of the stairs Mason was scooped up by his 3 year old teacher and showered in lots of hugs and kisses!! I know that it helped to put his little first day jitters at ease! After visiting with Ms Brittan we headed to Mason's new classroom. We were the only ones in there for a bit. Then a little boy came in and Mason played blocks with him. Not much longer his teacher and a group of kids came in. Mason gave his teacher her little first day of class gift and then went to play. They had a car mat and a bag full of hot-wheels and she said they could play! He was excited. His worry has been that his new classroom doesn't have any toys!
We were saying our goodbyes and his sweet teacher offered to take a picture of all three of us. Mason didn't cry and barely even looked up from playing to tell us Goodbye!
He did so well. And he was so big. I just can't believe we have a Pre-Kindergartner!!! Where has the time gone?
And pictures from my phone...
Happy Monday friends!

{It's the Little Things - PreK Meet the Teacher night}
Wednesday, August 13, 2014
Last night was Meet The Teacher night at Mason's school. I wasn't sure how it was going to go. Mason took the Summer off and he wasn't too keen about getting a new teacher when he returned. He absolutely adored his teacher he had in the 3's room and really couldn't fathom being in a different room. A few days ago his Pre-K teacher sent him a letter. It was addressed and written too him. He thought it was neat. He said, "I guess she's not so bad after all"! haha.
Anyhow, fast forward to last night. He invited his Nana and Papa and uncle T-Ty to go with us. They are very much a part of his life and they also pick him up from school on occasion. We pulled up and Mason started getting so excited and jumping up and down! It calmed my Mama heart so much! He couldn't wait to get in.

Happy Friday!!! Linking up for Oh hey Friday!
{O N E}
We're going camping, yet again! This weekend we are heading to Jellystone Park. The last time we were there was in October for their big Halloween extravaganza, post here. Mason is already there with his Grandparents and I miss him something fierce. Can't wait until 4:00 so that we can get out of here and get down there.
{T W O}
I finished The Husbands Secret Wednesday night. I enjoyed the book, but the ending was kind of disturbing. Have you read it?
From Good Reads...
Imagine that your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret—something with the potential to destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others as well. Imagine, then, that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive. . . .
Cecilia Fitzpatrick has achieved it all—she’s an incredibly successful businesswoman, a pillar of her small community, and a devoted wife and mother. Her life is as orderly and spotless as her home. But that letter is about to change everything, and not just for her: Rachel and Tess barely know Cecilia—or each other—but they too are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband’s secret.
And then I binge read another book on Thursday. Stayed up entirely too late to finish it. And now I am obsessed with reading again. I have already downloaded three more. Somebody stop me...
Wait...on second thought...any recommendations?

I've been in a funk this week! Not sure what it is...but it's been hard to shake. It might be because I am dieting {or trying to} but I just don't know. Anyone that has looked at my IG account is probably wondering where the heck I've been. I haven't posted much at all.

Hubby and I had
a date night last night! We miss our little guy, but we were excited
and thankful to have an evening of just us. We went to dinner and a
movie. We had so much fun! We took a picture, but it was in the theater and it was too dark to post on here. Boo! Anyhow, with the funk I've been in this date night was much needed. I woke up today feeling a little refreshed. Even though I went to sleep about 3 1/2 hours later than normal.

Mason is starting Pre-K in a couple of weeks!!! We got an invitation to meet the teacher night along with his school supply list. I took him a few days to pick out all his supplies.
Are we really already doing this?!
Any plans for the weekend?

{Mason's Easter party at school // Pre-K 3}
Thursday, April 17, 2014
Today was Mason's Easter party at school! It was a bunch of fun!! They had their Easter egg hunt before I got there, so I do not have pictures of that. But Mason said it was awesome. When I got there they were coloring pages out of a coloring book and 2 of the kids, plus Mason gave me their coloring sheets and said they were for me to take home. So sweet! I got to meet one of Mason's little best friends that he always talks about. He's a hoot, too! And small world...but Nathan and I both have known his Daddy since we were in elementary school. Wild!
The class got Pizza, cheetos, juice and cake balls for their party. Mason, of course, doesn't like pizza so I took him chicken nuggets. He devoured the cheetos and barely touched his chicken! We visited for a while and then headed out.
As we were leaving we saw the Easter bunny going in so we went back in to say Hi. Mason was too excited!!
It was a great morning.
Then we came home.
And Mason through an epic fit!! For 30+ minutes. Why? Oh because he wanted the hotwheels I gave his class. He thought they were his and I gave them away! Oh boy...
But then he fell asleep on my chest after his fit. He hasn't done that since he was a little babe. Aww...

{So....we've moved Pre-Schools}
Thursday, February 27, 2014
This post has been coming...I just wanted to give it a few days before I wrote about it. My true feelings and concerns and not sound like I am bashing Mason's previous school. This is going to be long...
We moved Pre-schools.
Why?
We grew out of our current school and it was just time.
There were so many things not setting right in my Mama soul and I was dealing with major guilt. Since working at home it has become harder and harder to take Mason to school. I had so much guilt that it was making me sick! Especially since I was taking him to a place where he was bored and a place he no longer enjoyed. He would whine and cry in the mornings, wouldn't want to get ready, and then say a couple times on the way to school "I don't wanna go to school. I don't like my school". And it hurt. Oh it hurt so bad. Even though I work at home, I do have a job to do. I have emails to answer and clients to talk to - normal work hours. But still, I want my baby home with me.
When we'd get to school he would cling to me for dear life and cry when I had to leave. Mornings at this place are crazy and chaotic...and there were not enough teachers with all of the kids. Pure and simple. I saw so many things that happened in there, it's unreal. But I will leave those out. Anyhow, I'd stay with Mason until the very last second that I could and then most days I would have to leave with him crying.
That tore my heart apart!
So many times I wanted to turn my car around and go back and get him! Then I'd worry and be in a funk all day just thinking about him and hoping he wasn't miserable. I also go to where I'd keep him hope 2, some times 3 times a week. It was just too hard to get up and get him ready and take him. I didn't have it in me to see him sad. Honestly, I'd make excuses just to keep him home with me.
So, what were the things that were bothering me?
One of the majors was that no matter what time you'd go to pick Mason up his class would be sitting on a rug watching tv. All.the.time. Nate's mom and brother noticed this too when they'd pick him up. And we all pick up at different times. That's not okay with me. That's something Mason can do at home (and I'd save a lot of money, but that's beside the point).
Another thing...there were 20-23 three year olds...in ONE class on most days. That's a huge class. And anyone that has a three year old will understand my reservations about this. It doesn't allow much, if any, one on one interaction. Instead, it's like herding cats all day. I mean, can you imagine? I know this is not on the teachers, they are doing their job and the best they can. But I think the school could manage this a little better. And could definitely use better organization.
(all of this because more clear after moving to a new school...but that's to come later)
Then there was the color changing thing. Mason was rarely on green (best behavior) ever. And then he'd tell me how he went to time-out. And when I'd ask why he'd say because he was talking. And most times he would say I don't know. And Mason is pretty honest, so if he knew he would tell me. Again, there are 20-23 three year olds in one room...of course they're gonna talk.
I also didn't like how recess was used against them and taken from them if they were rowdy. (again, 20-23 three year olds in one room, hello!) I have 1 three year old and I KNOW!! To me, that just says they need to get out and run off some of that energy. Not have it taken away!
Also, little comments were made to me here and there. But I will leave them out. But they bothered me and I can't get them out of my head.
Oh, another thing...most of the kids get there between 6:00-7:00 am and they sit in that cafeteria until 7:40-8:00am. That's a long time. And they expect them to sit on a 12x10 (maybe) rug and not talk. They're also not allowed to play with their toys. So they start playing with each other...and yep, that's forbidden as well. It's just a lot to expect out of a child. Especially a preschooler!
Another biggie....the kids sit in the cafeteria in the mornings from the time they get there until the time they go to class (after 7:30 and the school opens at 6am). They're not allowed to bring toys...not allowed to play with each other...they expect them to sit on an old rug and watch a movie.

Then there's...
- the security (or lack there of)
- the menu
- the constant changing of things
Just lots and lots of little things that were adding up. I know what you're thinking, why in the world did you put him in that school in the first place? It hasn't always been that way. He started there when he was 13 months old. It served us well. But people grow, things change and there comes a time when it's time to move on. That's where we are.
So how and why Fire House Kids?
It's been on my mind for over a year now. I would bring it up to Nate from time to time, but that's as far as it went. Until a couple weeks ago. I brought it up again and Nate asked me to look into it. So I scoured their website and their Facebook. And then my heart was filled with so much goodness and it felt right. All of the wonderful comments on their Facebook page told a lot about their school. So I called and got more information and we planned to go and tour it that Friday.
We talked to Mason about it several times and he was excited. We wanted to make sure he understood that meant new teachers, new friends and a new school. He was excited!
So Friday we started our day. We had many errands to run before our tour of Fire House Kids. One of them was a haircut for Mason. They put him in the Fire Truck seat. Cool. Then we were heading in the direction of Academy and made a spontaneous decision to eat at Fire House Subs. Mason's meal came with a Fireman's helmet. As we sat down to eat Nate joked and said, I guess it's a Fireman/station themed day.
I said, maybe those are signs from God?
We finished up our errands and headed to Fire House Kids. We got a great feeling from the minute we walked in the door. We toured the school, met the three year old teachers, and got all of the information we needed. We got in the car and talked to Mason about it and he was ready to go there! So I called the director and let her know we'd be starting on Monday!! Mason was excited. We are on day 4 and he is still loving it. He adores his teacher, too! Actually, he tells me that he LOVES her! ha.
Here is what I am loving about FHK - some are small things, some are big things.
- First of all, the people! Everyone is so nice and kind.
- You have to have a code to get in the doors, the desk/office is a good ways back from the front doors, and Mason's class is far from the entrance!
- No more writing checks. They have a card machine! Whoop whoop!
- No sitting in cafeteria until class time. The cafe is designated for eating only. Once kids finish they are allowed to go up stairs in designated areas (with adult supervision) to play until all of the teachers have arrived.
- Smaller classes. Mason is now in a class of 12 or less kids. I think he made 10 or 11. They break up the three year olds into 3 different classrooms!
- They have 'themed' days - backwards day, crazy sock day, pajama day, show & tell, etc.
- When it's raining or cold they have a gym where the kids can go and run off some energy. They're not confined to their classrooms watching movies.
- They don't even have tvs in their room!
- They serve actual meals in the morning, not just cereal.
- When he turns four he gets to go on field trips. And I can volunteer to go and help!
- His teacher actually engages with him. Asks him questions about his evening, what he had for supper, etc.
- They let the kids be kids.
- They're on a computer system for checking in/out.
- They have recess 2, sometimes 3 times a day.
- Mason is actually learning new things already. They're on the same curriculum as the other school and he'd come home and not be able to tell us what the papers were about. He can tell you everything about his assignments at the new school!
- He's happy....we're happy....life is good! Change is good.
The afternoon director sent me this picture of him on his first day along with a video that said, "Mommy I am having fun."

{First week of PreK3 - Genesis 1:!}
Thursday, September 12, 2013
Mason's first week of PreK-3 went really well. He was only there 3 days of the first week due to the holiday and then he stayed home with his Daddy on Friday...but he still learned a lot.
I guess before I get into his first week I should describe his "school" a little better. Mason goes to A Christian Academy. They have PreK-3 through 3rd grade as well as daycare, and before/after school care. Mason goes year round. During the Summer it's a little more casual and they do more "play" activities. Curriculum for PreK starts with the new school year. So, for PreK-3 he didn't go to a new school, a new class or even have new teachers or peers. It's the class he's been with since he turned 3. They just began their curriculum with their A Beka Books. It is a Christian based program that incorporates the Bible into their learning.
For the first week they learned about "Creation" from the Bible as well as their basic colors.
The Bible Verse for the first week was -
Great first week and looking forward to the 2nd.

Mason memorized it the first day. He knew it Wednesday morning and recited it spot on during our ride to school.
{Note - Mason missed the first 2 days of week 2 due to allergies...so we will have to make up the work in the evenings}

{PreK3 and Huntin'}
Wednesday, September 4, 2013
Yesterday {9/3} was a big day for our little dude! First day of PreK and first time to go Dove huntin' with Daddy!
I wasn't sure the exact start date of PreK3 because the school was waiting for their books to come in. Yesterday I was sitting at work and started thinking about it. I didn't want to miss taking pictures of Mason on his first day. So I messaged one of his teachers and sure enough, they started that day.
I didn't prepare for this day as best as I should have. We had just gotten back from vacation and we were exhausted! I sent Mason to school in some comfy clothes and I didn't have a 'sign' prepared to take pictures with. I wanted a chalkboard, but was unable to find one last minute. So I grabbed a black dry erase board and some bright colored markers.
Taking pictures of Mason is an act of congress. Seriously. I had to just work with what I had - right then and there. He wasn't going for posing. He was more interested in wiping the marker off the sign. Little stinker!

They learned about creation the first day. Their bible verse they are remembering this week is
God created the heavens and the Earth - Genesis 1:1
One of the worksheets he brought home was a color sheet about God creating the animals. It had an elephant on it. We were talking about in and in true Mason fashion....
"Mama, that is a transformer elephant." - Mason
"Oh really? How so?" - Me
"It transforms into a zombie elephant." - Mason
Everything is about Zombies. Everything. And for the record - we do not let him watch any shows that have Zombies on them. He learned about them playing a game at his Nana and Papa's (Zombies vs Plants or something like that). I had to have a little talk with him about Zombies!
After school Mason got to go Huntin' for the first time. He was so excited. And once again, I wasn't prepared. He has outgrown all of his camo! So we had to make do...
Mase said he had a lot of fun. He hunted maybe 30 minutes and then I guess he saw his Grandparents outside and had to go visit them. ha!
It was a good day!
