Happy Friday!! This week went by pretty fast for me (no complaints here!). I had Monday off and I have today off. I could really get used to working only three days a week and having every Monday and Friday off. If only. I'm still getting over some terrible allergies/head cold, but feeling much better. Anyhow, here's a little bit of what we have been up to this week.

{Our marriage secrets // What works for us}

Nathan and I recently celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary and on November 1st we will celebrate our 22nd year together. When people hear how long we have been together and see that we are still crazy in love we get questions like "how?" or "what are your secrets?" and even "and you're still happy?" And the answer is yes, we are still happy! Today I am going to share all of our secrets with you!

Happy Tuesday! I was off yesterday (Hallelujah!) and spent the day with my sweet little love. He had no school because of a fair day, so I took off too! We had a nice day together. I'll recap that soon, but for now, I want to recap our weekend. We had a great family filled weekend!

{Five on Friday // Homecoming Week 2018}

Happy Friday! This week was homecoming week for our little town and in honor of that, the kids had a dress-up day every day. It was so fun to get out of uniforms for a week and do something different. These were our dress up days...

ONE | Gift Us a Win! 
Christmas in September. Wear an ugly Christmas sweater. Mason and I found this T-Rex sweatshirt on Amazon. It's not the cheesiest or ugliest, but it fits the bill for him. Good thing the weather is only calling for a high of 81 today. ha!

{Harry Potter Photo Shoot}

Warning! We are full blown Harry Potter nerds over here. Mason and I recently made DIY Harry Potter wands as a fun little Pinterest to Project that I will share soon. We ordered the robe from Amazon and I found the Gryffindor shirt at Target. You know we had to have a little photo shoot with everything put together!! Well, I did. I just told Mason to play and I'd snap photos! We had so much fun taking these. We went down to our little lake area to make it look like the forbidden forest.

{Pinterest to Project // vol. 2 // DIY Can Pumpkins}

I mentioned on my first Pinterest to Project post that I have way too many pins saved on Pinterest and never follow through with making any of them. I'm obsessed with Pinterest and always find the cutest things I want to make, but I just never follow through. Best intentions, I suppose. In efforts to change that I started a Pinterest to Project series here on the blog where I will share those pins that I turn into a reality!  My second project was these cute little tin can pumpkins!

{Fall Home Tour // 2018}

I love decorating my home and putting little touches throughout. But, there's just something about decorating for fall that makes my heart soar. I love it so much! I can't get enough of the pumpkins and pinecones and thankful signs. Today I thought I would share a fall home tour here. I usually shy away from these types of posts because we have the worst lighting ever in our home. Ugh! I opened up my windows and both doors to try to let as much light in as possible for these pictures. While they're not great, they are something. And something is better than nothing.

Welcome to our home! This is our front porch right now. It will change a bit throughout the season as I gather real pumpkins. I haven't bought any yet because it's still reaching 95-97 degrees here in Texas. We are supposed to get some rain this weekend and possible cooler temps from there on out. One can hope. Also, we have to wait for the pumpkin patches to open. We like buying our pumpkins there because they seem to have the best selection of different pumpkins. And everyone knows I like the different ones! Give me all of the oddly shaped ones, the wart covered ones, the white ones, the fairytale ones...give me them all!

{Hello Monday // A weekend of rest}

Happy Monday friends! We had a very, very rare weekend for us. We stayed home for about 90% of the weekend. I know...that never happens for us. Ever. We usually always have plans. But, all of our plans we did have got postponed due to the rain. We were able to just stay home and rest. I mean, we still had a really productive weekend, but we also got to just be at home.

Friday I picked up my groceries (online ordering is the bomb diggit), Mason and I went to a thrift store to see if we could find any treasures, and then Mason and I took the Rubicon to get the tires balanced and rotated. While we waited on the Jeep I walked Mason next door to Dairy Queen for ice cream. Nate worked overtime on Friday so we all got home around the same time. I made supper and enjoyed a meal at home. If I'm being honest, I cannot remember the last time we ate a home cooked meal on a Friday. We are usually out and about and either eat out or grab fast food.

Saturday morning I woke up bright and early at 7 am. I was cozy in bed so I just scrolled FB, IG, and Pinterest for an hour or so and then got out of bed. I looked outside to see how much rain we had gotten, which was quite a bit. I lit my favorite candle and settled on the couch with some coffee and my girl at my feet. It was so nice to just enjoy a clean and quiet house for a bit.

{Five on Friday // T-Rex, TCU, Lexi in a Calendar, Skies}

Happy Friday! Even though we are supposed to get a ton of rain this weekend I am really looking forward to the weekend!! I plan to get a lot of crafting and cleaning and organizing done! I ordered enough groceries to just stay in this weekend and make breakfast, lunch, and dinner at home. This is so rare for us! Normally we have a million plans going on! I'm a bit excited.

Anyhow. here's a look at what's going on in our little world right now.

ONE | TRex in the morning drop-off line!! 

Monday morning was a pretty rough one! I mean, who likes mornings? Especially Monday mornings. Then we get to school and a sweet lady that we adore changes our whole attitudes around! She was getting kids out of the cars while wearing a T-Rex costume!! And, she just happened to get Mason out of the Jeep. A little backstory on her...she works in the science lab and turned it into a "Jurassic World" themed room. It's super cool and all of the kids love it. I also heard that she wore the costume to all three lunch periods!! 

{Fall 2018 Bucketlist}

With the first day of fall being on Saturday, I wanted to share our fall bucket list. I was going to share it on the actual first day of fall, but then I saw there was a link-up for it today. So here we are. Anyhow, it's finally my favorite season of all. I mean, I love summer because my boy is home with me, but fall is my absolute favorite. There is just something about that time of year that makes my heart feel so full and happy. I'm obsessed with all things pumpkin and just the very feeling of fall.  Compiling and completing a fall bucket list has always been such a fun time in our house. And, it's the one thing I have been consistent with on the blog. All of the fall festivities are my favorite and so good for my soul! Here's a look at our Fall Bucketlist for 2018...

{Who God says I am}

In a world where we are pulled in many different directions and are constantly made to feel like we are never enough I am so thankful that I serve a God that says I am worth it. That I am enough. That I am His. My true identity is in Christ and in Christ alone. I turn to these scriptures when I need to be reminded of just that. And maybe you need to read these today, too.

Happy Tuesday! Because I couldn't get my stuff together and blog for yesterday, today is the day I recap our lovely weekend!! Mondays are hard, y'all! And Mason had some stomach issues Sunday night that made us all a little more groggy on a Monday. He's fine now and feels much better. Thank the Lord! Here's a look at our weekend...

Happy Friday! This week seemed to fly by in a flash. And yes, I'm fully aware that by saying that this will be the longest Friday in the history of ever! haha! But, I hope not. I'm excited and ready to get this Friday started. Mason is spending the night at one of our Pastor's house with his friend so that means date night for Nathan and I. We haven't fully planned our evening, but we have planned our Saturday morning! We are going to get up early and try out a new and adorable coffee shop in town and then we will be heading to Dallas to the vinyl store. I have so many projects that I've started but need vinyl to complete them. I can't wait to share them all on here. Anyhow, here's a look at Five on Friday.

Happy Friday! It's usually the short weeks seem the longest, but that was not the case this week. This week seemed to fly by and I'm not mad about it. I'm ready for another weekend. Like always. Tonight we have our first bible study since our summer break. I'm looking forward to spending time in the word with sweet friends and just hanging out together. Saturday we are hanging out with some friends and Sunday is church and a bridal shower at church for a dear friend. It's going to be a great weekend!! But for now, a little Five on Friday...

{Prime Purchases // September edition}

It's the first Tuesday of the month which means it's time to link-up that Tanya's Prime Purchases Link-up. Amazon Prime continues to be one of my favorite things ever and I love to see what others buy from there. I have to be honest and say that I haven't made very many purchases from Prime lately. Who am I even? It's been too busy around here to even think about shopping.

{Beaver's Bend}

I'm still a bit in catch-up mode around here. We had a completely full summer and I want to recap all the things since this is our family scrapbook. Back in July we took a trip to the Kiamichi Mountains to camp at one of our favorite places ever, Beaver's Bend. July 4th was on a Wednesday so we just took a couple of extra days after it to make a long weekend! As always, Beaver's Bend did not disappoint. We had a blast!!

{Falling for Fall}

Now that school is back in session I find myself daydreaming about and longing for fall. I know the first official day of fall is not until Sept. 22nd, but who says we have to wait? I mean, besides the Texas weather. I recently redid my living room and now I'm ready to decorate for fall. It's truly the best time of the year. Generally, I crank out a lot more blog posts during the fall months as well. There's just so much to do. Today I thought I would share some of the reasons I always crush on fall so hard.

{Five on Friday // August // Pt 3}

Happy finally Friday! I mentioned on Instagram that I've had a week full of Mondays, and that's exactly what my week has been like. Work has been insane, Mason started school on Wednesday and I haven't been getting much sleep at all. And if you know me then you know how heartbroken I am over school starting (dramatic much?) and how much I love my sleep. ha. Praise God that it's Friday!!

{First Day of Third Grade}

I keep repeating this over and over in my head. How is my sweet little baby already in the third grade? This is his last year at this campus and the year the Staar testing begins. He's the big man on campus now. This morning he asked us"do I look as tall as a third grader?" You don't even know, son. Why do you think your mama wore tall wedges today? Oh, how bittersweet it is.

{Weekend Wrap-up // Beachin'}

Happy Tuesday! I tried to make this post happen yesterday, but just couldn't. I was exhausted from the weekend and then, you know, Mondays. Ugh! I'm covering for a co-worker for the next two weeks, so my workload has doubled. Anyhow, we had such an amazing weekend. We decided on a whim to take Mason to the beach as one last hurrah before school starts back. It was such a good decision because we had the most incredible weekend. It was perfect. Not one thing I would have changed! I love those weekends, but wish they could last forever.

Happy Friday party people!! Now normally I wouldn't be excited about this weekend since it's the last weekend we have before a new school year starts, but we have stellar plans and I'm ecstatic. As I was preparing things for back to school it hit me just how many family traditions we have. And I love every one of them! I thought I would share those traditions here on the blog. These are things that we do aside from the normal school supply shopping, uniform + shoe shopping, haircut, etc.

{The Daily Dime // August edition}

It's been a long while since I have joined in for The Daily Dime!! But, I thought it would be fun to recap a normal summer day before school starts back. But, I have to be honest and say that I did not remember about this link-up until around 11 am today {Tuesday}. Luckily, I am an obsessive picture taker and took photos of our morning anyhow!!

{Our weekend trip to Wimberley, TX}

Back at the end of June Nate's parents so graciously rented an amazing river house in Wimberley, TX for us all to enjoy. The whole Hall clan was able to go and it was a such a great time! When we are all together there are 10 of us now. I love our little growing family something fierce. We had a new addition to the family back in December, so it was so wonderful having a little babe around to love on any time we wanted. Wimberley, TX is such an adorable little town and stole a piece of our hearts.

{This Past Weekend // August // Pt 2}

When I sat down to write this post I had to think about what we did this weekend. It went by too fast and I'm sitting here wondering how it's already Sunday afternoon. Anyone else feel that way? I'm sure it felt super fast because the gray cloud that is school starting soon is looming overhead. And that wasn't the only cloud in the sky this weekend...it poured the majority of the weekend. I love rain, but on a weekday. Not the weekend when we're trying to live it up! Anyhow, here is a look at this past weekend...

{Mason's 8th birthday}

Back in May, we celebrated Mason's EIGHTH birthday! I'm not sure how we got to eight so fast. It seems like it happens overnight, doesn't it? Excuse me while I go cry in a corner somewhere. But really, Mason is such a fun kid. Difficult to the core, but fun nonetheless. He always keeps us on our toes, makes us laugh with his witty sense of humor, and loves like no other. We are so blessed to call him ours!

{Memorial Day Trip to Mason, TX}

Another May event that I need to get on the blog...since this is our family scrapbook. Our annual Memorial Day trip to Mason, TX. One of our favorite trips of the entire year. We just love that part of the Texas Hill Country, the people and the relaxing fellowship! And the food too. It's just an all-around great long weekend we look forward to each year. This year did not disappoint. We had an amazing time.

Happy Friday! I have to say that surprisingly this week flew by! I thought it would be the longest week in history since it was my first time back to work in over 12 days. I'm glad it wasn't. I am ready for the weekend. We don't have a lot planned, but I am ready and excited all the same.

{Go Topless Weekend // Jeep Beach}

Today I am going to take it way back to the middle of May when Nathan and I went to Jeep Beach (Go Topless weekend) at Crystal Beach, TX. It was an adults weekend only and we had so much fun. Nathan and I don't do much without Mason, let alone a whole long weekend without him. It was weird, but we managed to have a great time. He was living it up at his Nana and Papas where I am certain he had ice cream for supper more often than not! Lucky kid!

{Summer update // We got our CJ 7 back!!! }

Wow...another month (plus) has passed since I posted last. I thought I was going to be able to keep up on this blog, but then life happened. We've been on several more trips and just haven't had the time to dedicate to this space. I do miss it, so I am going to try to get back into the blogging world. Try, being the keyword here. {2018 Summer Bucketlist}

Sweet summertime! Oh, how I live for these days. Now that Mason is in school these summer days have grown to mean a lot more to me. I saw a meme the other day that said we really only have 18 summers with our littles and it made me so weepy! EIGHTEEN. That's not a lot at all. But, instead of harping on that I choose to live out these summer days the best way I know how. Here is our 2018 summer bucketlist...

One of our favorite things to do as a family is to hop in the Jeep and drive some backroads. We chase the sunset and watch it fall over a field, creek, pond or lake. We usually have no agenda when backroading, but yesterday I was adamant to find a sunflower field. Normally they are pretty abundant around here this time of year, but it’s all about the corn this year. We finally landed upon a field of sunflowers somewhere in Ennis, TX. And, it was well worth the miles we covered.
