{Oh Hey Friday // Easter edition}

Good morning and Happy Good Friday! It's going to be all about Easter on the blog today!!  Easter is by far my favorite holiday. And I am so excited about it this year because of our new church. Love it. We have a busy weekend ahead of us, but I am ready for it. It started yesterday evening {more below}.Today Mason and I will make Resurrection Rolls {Thanks Beth!}, dye our Easter eggs, and do our resurrection eggs. I can't wait to spend such precious time with my best boy!! Saturday morning I volunteered to help our church with the set-up of the city wide egg hunt. The hunt is from 11-1. Mason has a soccer game at 1, so we will have to leave for that. And then right after his game we are heading down to where Nate's parent's are camping for the day/evening. Sunday we have sunrise service at 8, breakfast at 9, Sunday school at 9:30, and Easter service at 10:45. After church we will go to my parents house to celebrate Easter and then that evening we will have Easter with Nate's family. So excited.

This week on the blog I shared:

Monday //  St Pattys Day Shenanigans
Tuesday // 10 on Tuesday Target style
Wednesday // Mason's Easter basket(s)
Thursday // I confess

{O N E} Communion and Stuffing Eggs! Last night three churches gathered in our church gym to have communion {led by our Pastor} and then stuffing of over 8,000 Easter eggs for our city-wide egg hunt on Saturday. We had a good group come out and we stuffed all of the eggs in an hour! Then one of the Pastors from one of the other churches led us in prayer over the eggs. It was an amazing night and I was so happy to have been a part of it.

{T W O} Easter Books! These books have been read almost every night this week.

Hall Around Texas - Easter Books

{T H R E E} Magic Easter Jelly Beans!! Mason's Nana came over one night this week and planted magic jelly beans with Mason. This is a tradition they do together. Sometimes the jelly beans grow lolli-pops or some other bigger type of candy. We can't wait to see what they grow into on Easter.

{F O U R} Mason's Easter egg hunt at school. Mason had a hunt at his school on Thursday! I was able to watch because it was during the time I am normally there in the car-pool line waiting on him! It was so cute and he had so much fun. He was ecstatic to find a golden egg. Made his little heart so happy.

{F I V E} Easter Scavenger Hunt! My sweet friend Beth sent me a snapchat of an Easter Scavenger Hunt and I just knew we had to do it too! I whipped up a print {below} so that we could take it with us on Saturday! I think the camping grounds {which are on the river} will be the perfect place to do this. I am so excited, I know Mason will love it. He has a passion for learning about Jesus!!

How will you celebrate Easter this year?

{I confess}

// Mason's Easter basket is going to be ginormous this year {more for him to share!!}. I started stashing things in my craft closet several weeks ago and kind of forgot all that I had bought. And I've already thought of a couple things I forgot to put in there.

// Mason and I kind of have coordinating outfits for Easter and I'm not mad about it. I am going to try to get Nate to match us too. And then I pray we get at least one decent family photo on Easter.

// Speaking of Easter...Mason picked out a bow-tie to wear and I am so, so so excited about it. I pray he lets me take some pictures of him.

// And Easter yet again...I am so so excited about all of the Easter festivities coming up. Like majorly excited. I love Easter. I'm even excited about sunrise service and can't wait to experience this with my sweet little family. Even if that means I will need to get up and go to the grocery store at 5 am.

// I have had so much fun watching Mason practicing and playing soccer. I think this just might be his "thing". And even though it broke my baseball-loving heart that he really wasn't into T-ball, I'm excited about soccer. But that doesn't mean I'm not secretly hoping his thoughts on playing baseball changes. ha

// My heart is on fire for Jesus right now. Like on fire. I want to serve in any way that I can. And I just can't get enough church! It's been so good for my soul.

// I completely failed at Guys Behind the Blog this month. We were supposed to come up with 5 questions on our own and I completely dropped the ball. I wonder if I can still pull it off?

// I have met the most incredible ladies through this blogging thing and I am feeling so blessed! This community is amazing and I am so thankful for it. Thank you!

What are you confessing this week? Are you ready for Easter?

{Easter Basket Link-up}

I have been so excited for this link-up! I absolutely love Easter. While we focus mostly on Jesus and his resurrection during Easter, we do still do Easter baskets and the Easter bunny. And,  I'm going to admit...Mason's basket(s) are pretty big this year. I've been collecting things for a few weeks now and kind of forgot what all I had in my closet. I tried to get a lot of things that he could do outside since it's Spring and that's where we spend most of our time. Most of his Easter basket items are from the Target Easter section or the Target Dollar Spot.

The Mason basket has mostly candy and some books. The candy items are Pez, Egg gum, Peeps, Skittles, etc. Mason can't stand chocolate, so no chocolate bunnies in his basket. The other bucket is filled with an apron, a few garden tools, a garden tool bag, a strawberry plant, a giant blow up Ninja Turtle ball, a skipper thing, egg chalk, a bug dig kit, some socks, Jeep hot wheels and a few other things. The middle bunny box has a stuffed bunny and two golden eggs that have money inside them.

Side note...a couple of weeks ago we bought some of those little cartons of egg gum and I was telling Mason that used to be my favorite thing to get in my Easter basket. I asked him what his favorite thing to get in his Easter basket was and he said Hot Wheels. So I had to make sure I had some of those to put in there!!

What do you put in your kid(s) Easter basket? I hope you'll link up with us.

{10 on Tuesday // 10 Things I love about Target // $10 to Target}

I love Tuesdays and linking up with Karli for 10 on Tuesday!!

10 things I love about Target...

1 // The dollar spot! I don't feel like an explanation is needed, but I am going to give one anyway. Seriously...if you are able to walk into Target and not even stop by the dollar spot then you might be a robot, or something. Kidding of course! But, I love the Target dollar spot. It's so awesome for so many things. I love their seasonal items for adding little touches around my house. And all of the little things you can use for stocking stuffers, or filling an Easter basket, etc. And I love that they started adding some farmhouse type items, too! I'm such a sucker for the Target dollar spot.

2 // They have the best clearance! Things get marked down so dirt cheap at Target. It's like winning a little lotto when you find clothing under $10 or sometimes even under $5 bucks!

3 // The check-out lines are never long. They actually have more than 3 cashiers working at a time {ahem, Walmart}.  Although I could browse the Target aisles for hours, it is our go-to for a quick in and out. Like if we just need to grab one thing, a quick gift or a card.

4 // They have Starbucks for mom. Starbucks and Target? Definitely a winning combination.

5 // And Icee's for Mason. He loves those things.

6 // They actually have a pretty decent section for boys clothing. I don't know why, but the girls section is always better in every darn store. But Target has been a win for us lately. Mason is kind of in the middle of the babies/toddlers section and the bigger boys section right now. He can still wear some of the 5T clothing in the toddler section and the xs or small in the boys. I am loving having more options.

7 // They have a food too. So I can grocery shop and browse through Target all in one trip.

8 // The Target cartwheel and Red Card discounts. Saving is saving and I have saved quite a bit using these two things!

9 // It's always clean. Always. I have never once been into our target and thought, ugh this is nasty. It's always organized too.

10 // The make-up section is awesome. I will admit, sometimes I can spend 20-30 minutes just in the beauty section!

Today it's all about Target. I am also linking up with Becky at bybmg  and friends for $10 at Target. I have always loved Becky's $10 Target trips and got so excited when she made it a linkup. I failed miserably last month {post here}, and kind of failed again this month. But, not because I spent too much. I had totaled the items in my basket and it was $9 worth, plus tax. But after I checked out my total was only $6.17. I watched her scan everything, so I just thought something was on clearance that I wasn't anticipating. But then I got home and checked over my receipt again and noticed that she didn't charge me for the magazine holder. And now I feel bad. I know that she at least tried to scan it because it was awkward and she was having trouble. I guess it didn't scan when she thought it did. Ooops! Anyhow, here is what I got:

Magazine holder
2 packs of file folders
Spring notepad
Gel pens

I needed the organizer and file folders to get things organized. Our lives have been so crazy lately and it's about to get so busy. I need some organization in my life. And the gel pens...if you see these at your Target, grab them! They right so smooth and are the prettiest colors. You never know what you're going to get with gel pens, but I am glad I took a chance with these! And I plan to write Mason lunchbox notes on the cute notepad.

Happy Tuesday! Are you linking up with either of these two fun link-ups? I'd love to see your post!

{St Patty's Day Shenanigans}

Happy Monday!! I took a short little blogging hiatus {posts were scheduled} from Thurs-Sun to spend the rest of Spring Break with my sweet boy! Lots to catch up on, now...

Like our St Patty's Day shenanigans. Ever since we made our DIY Leprechaun trap Mason has checked it no less than 97 times a day, hoping to have caught a Leprechaun. On St. Patty's Day morning Mason woke up to see that a Leprechaun had come, but he was too tricky to be caught. He did leave Mason some things, though! And there was gold magic Leprechaun dust everywhere. Oh, and he dropped his hat full of Leprechaun hold when he was trying to make his escape. We must have startled him! Mason didn't mind, though! He was happy to keep the hat and coins.

Diesel could not stand it!!! He kept running in front of the camera as I was taking pictures of Mason and his St Patty's Day goods! He was cracking us up. He despises the camera, but didn't want Mason to get all of the attention. Oh that boy!!

After Mason looked at all of his goodies he enjoyed some green milk on the porch! He was so impressed with my green milk-making skills. haha! He said it tasted a bit like regular milk and a little like strawberry milk. It was just white milk with green food coloring.

How was your St. Patty's Day?

{Oh Hey Friday // Chef Mason // Easter Basket Link-up Announcement}

Oh Hey Friday, Hey! It was a pretty great week. Hello Spring Break!! So much quality time with my sweet boy was spent and I soaked up every single second of it. Now that he's in big school we look forward to those days off. I miss the days of Pre-K where I could keep him home anytime I wanted. Now we're in big ol' public school and have to work around a school calendar. It's proving to be a challenge with our little traveling gypsy souls. Anyhow, I am so thankful for this week I got to spend with my sweetest boy.

Our DIY Leprechaun Trap
Confessional Thursday

{T W O} // On Monday of Spring Break my sweet boy wanted to play "Chef". So I found Nate's apron and got him all set up. He was most interested in chopping things up on the cutting board. He has a little wooden knife that he and Nate built together. So, he used that to cut up a couple of pieces of bread {that he ate and shared with Diesel} and then a cookie. Then he pretended to bake the cookie. He was so cute! I guess he does pay attention to all of those cooking shows we watch.

{T H R E E} // I recently participated in a Bzz Agent campaign for Beyond Pet Snacks! I loved the opportunity to take some pictures of my sweet Diesel boy! He never ever lets me take pictures of him. But, he is a little more cooperative when I have snacks in hand! He needs a haircut, but I have been putting it off because he got such a bad report last time he was there. It was before a holiday and they were flooding with dogs. It was crazy! They said Diesel kept trying to bite the scissors and clippers and they could barely trim his face.

{F O U R} //  I am joining some of my favorite bloggers for an Easter Basket Link-up! I hope you'll join us. The details are in the picture below! I love to see all the different Easter Baskets!

{F I V E} // We are camping in Glen Rose, TX this weekend!! We always have so much fun there. {Previous trips herehere and here} I am praying for the most glorious weather and a great time of relaxing with family. I love when my boy can just be a boy and get dirty and play his little heart out! I plan on letting him do just that this weekend,

What do you have planned for the weekend?

{I Confess}

Thursdays are starting to be one of my favorite days! I love getting out so many random things in one post. Time for another I confess sesh....

// It's Spring Break week around here {can I get an Amen?} and on Tuesday Mason and I stayed in our pajamas all day long! I didn't even put on a bra until about 6:30 pm that night and it's because we wanted to get outside and enjoy the glorious weather! It was worth it...

// Speaking of Spring Break...I had a complete #momfail on the very first day!! I worked Mon-Weds and while I was in my office answering a few work emails Mason took it upon himself to climb up our kitchen island and grab a new knife that had just come in the mail for Nathan. It was in a tray out of his reach. But, he was climbing up there for something else and saw the knife and grabbed it. He took it to his room to open and look at and he poked himself between two of his little fingers. Thank God it was only a little poke, it could have been so much worse. It was a major fail on all of us....on Nate for not putting it away when it came in the mail, on me for turning my back on him for a second and on Mason because Nathan has talked to him a cagillion times about the safety of knives and guns and asking one of us for help before ever touching. It scared the poop out of him, though! I am confident he will not make that mistake again.

// We are going camping this weekend, but I am making Nate bring us back on Saturday night because I don't want to miss church!! Normally I am the gal that doesn't want to miss a moment of camping! Love our church so much!!

// Mason and I made a DIY Leprechaun trap on Tuesday and I don't know who was more excited about it...he or I?! I'm not sure if we will catch one or not, but we are hoping he at least leaves some fun little goodies!

// Speaking of the Leprechaun trap...I feel kind of bad. Mason checks it like 95 times an hour hoping to catch a Leprechaun!! I am hoping the goodies he leaves in the morning will make up for it.  :)

// My bathroom is probably the messiest room in the whole house. But, I know exactly where everything is and it works for me.

// The season finale of PLL has me all kinds of confused. I am still trying to process this and figure it all out. Did any of you get it and care to explain to me? I was watching it over a loud five year old playing superheros!

// I have lacked motivation in the cleaning department this week. But hey, I did manage to cook everyday so far!

// It seems like everyone is moving to WordPress and I feel like I should too. But, I am terrified of messing everything up or that I will not know what to do once I am on WP. #thestruggle

// I took off today and we're not evening leaving until after Nate gets off work. But, I need the day with my sweet boy without work interrupting. And I will have to pack for all three of us plus Diesel.
